Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
The therapeutic benefits of hypnosis have been recognised for thousands of years dating back as far as Egyptian sleep temples. The topic is often shrouded in mystery and misconceptions (see commonly asked questions on this website). However most people are not aware that hypnosis is a perfectly natural state of mind that we slip into daily. When your mind wanders off into a pleasant daydream, when you count sheep to help yourself get off to sleep or you drive to work and have little recollection of the journey these are examples of hypnosis. There is no such thing as a hypnotised feeling and at no point could you be made to do anything against your will. The best description I can give is an enjoyable, calm and relaxing experience that everybody can experience to a lesser or deeper degree (doesn’t sound too bad does it!). There is no mind control only a cooperation between client and therapist for the benefit of the client. The development of hypnotherapies such as suggestion therapy and hypnoanalysis has had untold impact on people who are trying to lose weight, stop smoking or overcome depression, stress, anxiety, fears and phobias, sexual problems and low self esteem. Types of Hypnotherapy
There are two types of hypnotherapy we can offer depending on your individual circumstances.
1. Suggestion Therapy (otherwise known as Clinical Hypnosis)
Suggestion therapy will be the type that you are more familiar with. If you have seen hypnotherapy or hypnosis on television or read about it in the media this is the type of hypnotherapy they are using. Suggestion therapy is very effective at treating minor conditions or one off situations such as stop smoking, weight loss, exam nerves, nail biting or fear of flying. It can assist your willpower, boost your confidence, empowering you to do the things you want to do and stop doing the things you don’t want to do.
Suggestion therapy sessions come in three parts. Firstly a detailed chat about you and what you want to achieve, secondly entering into a lovely peaceful and relaxing hypnotic state and thirdly while your subconscious is open and receptive some very positive and powerful suggestions from the therapist. You will leave feeling refreshed, positive, confident and ready to achieve your goal.
Suggestion therapy is usually only one or two sessions.
2. Pure Hypnoanalysis
Pure hypnoanalysis is a unique and life changing therapy that is only practiced by highly qualified IAPH (international association of pure hypnoanalysis) members. It is extremely effective at locating and removing the root cause of a problem. We use this type of therapy on a daily basis to treat problems such as stress, depression, anxiety, fears and phobias, sexual problems and low self esteem. Unlike traditional counselling and other talking therapies that take years and often only offer ways of coping with or reducing your symptoms, hypnoanalysis gives instant and permanent results. The therapist will work closely with you whilst the relaxing hypnotic state aids memory recall and helps bring hidden emotions to the surface so that they can be resolved.
A course of pure hypnoanalysis will take approximately six to twelve sessions. Ideally the sessions will be at weekly intervals and last approximately 50 minutes.
3. CLB – Changing Limiting Beliefs Training Course

The full CLB training usually takes 5 or 6 sessions to complete although it can be much quicker for some trainees.
